Examine Your Environment: Social Psychology July 27, 2025 Groupthink: Groupthink, by definition is the tendency to prioritize conformity when thinking of anything within a group. The problem with groupthink is that we sometimes can forget or brush off critical thinking in order to better conform to the group of which we are in. This method of thinking tends to cause many problems such as the suppression of critical thinking, a lack of intellectual diversity, stress, a lack of outside perspectives, and much more. We should be much more conscious of this mindset as we engage with our social groups to ensure we are not compromising our own morals or values when being a part of these groups.
